Travel Savvy: A Day In Dallas

Home of the Cowboys, 7-Eleven, and Tex-Mex, a day in Dallas should be on your list at some point in your life. With great neighborhoods, food, art, and shopping, it is hard to not have great time. Not to mention that Southern Charm! We are giving you a list of some of our favorite spots you won’t want to miss as you explore all that Dallas has to offer.

Start your day right at Whisk

Grab a seat on the patio of Whisk Crepes Cafe and let yourself slow down for just a moment! Whisk was started by a Parisian-born and raised chef and by the time your food arrives, you will *almost* feel as though you are Parisian too. If you are with a friend, split both a savory and sweet crepe to get the best of both worlds!

Grab a latte at Wayward then head to Bishop Arts

As you know, we are pretty big fans of coffee and small businesses with community focus. Wayward Coffee Co puts both of those things together and we are here for it! This cool little shop is just minutes away from the heart of the Bishop Arts District. We suggest grabbing an iced latte to keep you cool as you head over to the Bishop Arts District to visit over 60 independent shops and services that can be found!

Get lost in Deep Ellum

Deep Ellum is definitely one of our favorite neighborhoods in Dallas. Stop for lunch at Pecan Lodge for a taste of Texas BBQ, head over to Flea Style to shop for the perfect curated vintage find, explore the streets in search of the most Instagram-worthy mural, then sweeten your afternoon with a slice of Emporium Pies.

Deep Ellum is jam-packed with so many amazing shops, restaurants, bars, art galleries, and more. From the culture, to the arts, to the history, this beautiful community has something for everyone and it is most definitely a can’t miss on our list!

Take a walk through Lakeside Park

Nestled into the luxurious Highland Park, Lakeside Park is the perfect spot to find a moment of quiet in the middle of a crazy day. Lush greenery surrounding a beautiful lake will make you wonder if you have somehow found your way out of Texas and into the English countryside. We suggest that you grab a charcuterie and some wine for a picnic in the park. If that isn’t your scene you can head over to Dallas’ version of Rodeo Drive, Highland Park Village, to shop luxury brands such as Tom Ford, Chanel, and Harry Winston.

End your day with tacos and margs

When in Texas, do as the Texans do and that means Tex-Mex and margaritas! Torchy’s Tacos is the perfect way to end a day in Dallas. We promise that you will not regret trying their signature taco, “The Trailer Park” (get it trashy!), nor any of their fantastic margaritas. We hope that you will head to bed with a full stomach, sore feet, and great memories!

Take Heart. Take Flight.
