Visit City Palace
Be sure to give yourself plenty of time to explore the extraordinary courtyards, beautiful gardens, and incredible architecture of the City Palace. With so many different features and museums inside the Palace, you really could spend all day there! Be sure to find the Four Gates located in Pritam Niwas Chowk — each one represents a different season and they are certainly a sight to behold!
Walk around Jantar Mantar
This UNESCO World Heritage Site is the place for any traveler looking for a unique history lesson. At the Jantar Mantar in Jaipur, you can find a collection of 19 astronomical instruments with construction dates somewhere around the early 18th Century. It is a sight to see the various large instruments and, depending on what time of day you go, you can even see how they work for yourself!
Take in the pink facade of Hawa Mahal
Often the most well-known building in all of The Pink City, Hawa Mahal (translated in English to “The Palace of Winds”) is built from red & pink sandstone. While you do have an option to tour Hawa Mahal, we enjoy taking in the beautiful detailed architecture that is found on the rear of the Palace as well as getting the perfect Instagram photo-op!
Explore the Amber Palace
The Amber Palace (sometimes referred to at the Amber Fort) is the most famous fort in all of Jaipur. Sitting above Moata Lake on a forested hill, the Amber Palace is an opulent building boasting four separate levels — each with its own courtyard. If possible, we suggest taking a guided tour through the Palace so that you can learn the interesting histories of the Palace as well as the rituals and lifestyles of those who lived in the palace during its prime.
Visit the Anokhi Museum
Block Printing is one of India’s best known handicrafts as well as being one of the oldest art forms in the world. The Anokhi Museum of Hand Printing serves to educated and help protect this unique artisan craft while also giving its patrons opportunities to watch the process and try printing for themselves. PRO TIP: When navigating to the museum, be sure to check out their website to get an accurate location. Often times tuk-tuk drivers will try to take you to an emporium instead of the museum itself!
