Product Feature: Chi-Chi Collection

When our founder, Lauren, started Travel Patterns she asked the question, “How do we take indigenous textiles and incorporate them into everyday life?” This question has become one of the main focuses of our business as we design products and seek out artisan partners in communities around the World. Our goal is to bring indigenous textiles into your modern lives and homes in a way that highlights your style and preserves the tradition of handicrafts around the world. We want to help you to bring the world home which is why we have worked hard to feature many different textiles in our Travel Pattern line of home goods and travel accessories.

Chichicastenango is a Guatemalan village, home to the largest artisan market in Central America. As passionate craftspeople from all over Guatemala gather to share their beautiful designs, the market explodes with color and texture and is the inspiration for our Chi-Chi Collection. We hope Chi-Chi brings color and energy to your adventures as if you were walking through the market yourself.

Our Chi-Chi collection is handwoven by our artisan partners at Pixan. Pixan is made up of 150 weavers, across 9 communities in Santa Catarina Ixtahuacan up in the western highlands of Guatemala. We love working with them to create textiles that are true to the Guatemalan culture and beautifully crafted to last for generations to come.

We love this pillow collection because of the fun colors and patterns that can easily be the main attraction of a room. Our 18x18 pillow would look perfect in a living room or back patio for the summer. We also love styling our 14x36 lumbar pillow on a fluffy bed with lots of mixing and matching.

Currently our Chi-Chi Collection of pillows is only available in our brick & mortar shop in Huntsville, AL. However, we plan to have them featured in the online store very soon!
