PATTERN STORY - NAHUALA
The Nahualá Collection was inspired by a piece of vintage Mayan textile found on one of our journeys to Guatemala. Indigenous Maya weavings are known for their intricate motifs that represent forms found in nature. One of the patterns we love most is a zigzag design which represents the ups and downs of the surrounding hills, or the ups and downs of a woman’s life. The detailed patterns on this collection are brocaded by hand on a traditional backstrap loom.
