Behind the Seams: Planning for the Future of Travel Patterns
At the beginning of 2020 and the global pandemic, we never anticipated that we would have such a big year — a brick & mortar location, a full-time employee, and three new artisan partners. However, we are very thankful that our path took us for a few crazy twists and turns. As we look towards the future, and specifically the next year, we are learning to dream bigger dreams and to believe that even the highest of heights might not be too far out of reach. They say that the number seven is a lucky one and we are believing that to be true of our seventh year in business. Our team has been dreaming into this next year and we are excited to share small glimpses of those dreams with you!
Workshops
Now that we have a beautiful brick & mortar shop, we are dreaming about ways that we can educate our local community on the art of handicrafts. One of the ways that we are creating opportunities for education is by hosting workshops featuring creative business in the area. From floral arranging and block printing, to embroidery and tie & dye we are excited to connect our Take Heart Tribe with the various talents and handicrafts found in our local network. Our first workshops are set to take place in the Fall of 2021 and we will be sharing those details with you very soon!
Community Events
As much as we love educating we also love connecting! Starting this fall, we are dreaming and planning amazing events to foster community, connection, and celebration. Whether you are new in town or a Huntsville native, a wine lover or a book lover, own a small business or just love to shop local, we are excited to create a space for everyone to belong and possibly meet their new best friend!
New Product Collections
A foundational piece of our business is creating beautiful textiles to help you bring the world home. In the next year we will be giving you more opportunities to do just that! We have created new partnerships so that our Signature Product Collections can continue to expand. We are anticipating beautifully designed tie & dye products from Mali as well as intricate embroidery and weaving from Mexico. Of course, we will continue to carry the existing Travel Pattern products from our amazing partners in both Guatemala and the Philippines.
Immersive Group Travel
From the beginning of Travel Patterns, our founder has dreamed of creating opportunities for women to connect with our artisan partners through immersive group travel. These trips will provide a comprehensive experience of some of our favorite countries through authentic meals, tours of artisan workshops, sight-seeing, and, of course, shopping in local markets. Our first trip is currently in the works for Spring 2022 and we will be releasing the location and itinerary this fall!
