Take Heart Homes: An Art Collectors Home with Lyndsi & Jeremy Carroll

From the beginning, Travel Patterns has been founded on the value of being inspired by the different cultures, patterns, and textiles from around the world. We believe that allowing cultures from around the world to impact our lives leads to a uniquely beautiful experience in our homes and in our hearts. We started our “Take Heart Homes” series because we wanted to explore the unique people who live in our community, the spaces they love, and how they bring the World home.

Today’s Take Heart Home is that of Lyndsi & Jeremy Carroll. We loved getting to spend the afternoon with Lyndsi & Jeremy in their beautiful home and learn more about them. We can’t wait for you to hear more about their home and family so keep reading all about them below!

Introduce Yourself

LYNDSI & JEREMY: We are Jeremy and Lyndsi Carroll. We live in Five Points with our 7 month old son (Frasier) and our three wild dogs. Jeremy and I have been married for 7 years and are both Huntsville natives. A fun fact about us is that we got married at the courthouse. We aren’t big on pomp and circumstance, so we decided to get married just the two of us and celebrate the following day with our family and friends. We loved this way of doing things as it allowed us to have our vows be personal and private and then we were able to let loose and enjoy a big party with all of our loved ones.

How do you feel about living in Huntsville? What is your favorite part about where you live?

LYNDSI & JEREMY: We love living in Huntsville! We have enjoyed watching our city grow over the years and are so excited for what’s to come. We love traveling to bigger cities and watching little glimpses of that trickle into our city as time goes by. We live in Five Points and adore our neighborhood. Not only are we super close to downtown, but we are in a very well developed neighborhood with charm and lots of character. One of our favorite family activities is bike riding. We love to bike through our neighborhood while checking out all of the different homes and yards.

How do you find inspiration for decorating your home?

LYNDSI & JEREMY: We have never been the type to go to Home Goods and pick out decorations that anyone and everyone has in their homes. We love collecting items as we go through life. Our number one rule when it comes to decorating our home is that we both have to agree on whatever it is that we’re buying. We both value feeling comfortable in our home and try our hardest to make anyone who enters feel warm and welcome.

If you had to describe your home style in three words, what would they be?

LYNDSI & JEREMY: Earthy. Inviting. Fresh.

What is your favorite room in your home?

LYNDSI & JEREMY: We both would pick our living room. We love how comfortable it is but also how we have it decorated.

Do you have a favorite piece in your home? If so, what is it?

LYNDSI & JEREMY: Lyndsi’s favorite: A piece by Egle Zvirblyte titled: Girl, Tiger, Tiger.

Jeremy’s favorite: The Making of a Male Conspiracy by local artist Dwin Hart.

Favorite place to source items for your home?

LYNDSI & JEREMY: Local art festivals. We love the Monte Sano Art Festival. We also love checking out antique stores when we visit other cities.

Any advice for creating a home you love?

LYNDSI & JEREMY: Only purchase something for your home if you love it and connect with it. If something makes you happy, you should display it where you will see it the most. Figure out what you value most in your home and ask yourself if what you’re buying aligns with that goal.

Take Heart. Take Flight.

Our motto - Take Heart. Take Flight. - calls us to courageously search for who we were meant to be, to break free of the fears holding us back, and to boldly pursue the daring adventure set before us. We believe that this journey can be uniquely reflected in our homes as they can display our hearts more clearly than any other piece of our lives. With that in mind, how does your home show a unique piece of your personality and story?

LYNDSI & JEREMY: We believe in encouraging others to pursue their goals and dreams. This is the main reason we love buying original art. Most every piece on our home has a story we can tell you about who made it or where it’s from. Seeing what it means to an artist who is working hard to be successful when you purchase their work is worth every penny spent. We love being able to be a part of someones dreams coming true.
