Hometown Huntsville: Coffee Shops // Part 1

Travel Patterns is certainly a global company, however, now with a brick and mortar we are also a local company. One of the best things about our local community is how well they support small businesses and we are honored to now be a part of the local community in such a tangible way. We wanted to do our part to support some of Huntsville’s amazing local businesses which is why we are launching a new series we are calling “Hometown Huntsville”. Every post will focus on one industry here in Huntsville and the businesses that are knocking it out of the park. Our first post is devoted to an industry that keeps our team running, coffee.

Honest Coffee Roasters - Downtown Huntsville

Location: 114 Clinton Ave E #106 Huntsville, AL 35801

Though the franchise originated in Franklin, TN, the friendly barista team (lead by owner, Christy Graves) and signature drinks of Honest will leave you with that hometown feel.

What We Love: In the warmer months, there is nothing better than enjoying an iced latte and the outdoor seating. We also love that you are in the Heart of the Downtown area making it easy to grab a coffee on your way to enjoy Big Spring Park or look at Huntsville Historic homes.

Our Order: Their seasonal menu always has the best speciality lattes — especially their Fall/Winter menus! We also recommend their signature Bee’s Knees Latte or Bootlegger Latte paired with a Grilled Breakfast Burrito.

Pro-Tip: If you are looking for a place to work or study, Honest may not be the best option for you. Often the shop is full and seating is limited so you probably won’t get a quiet, distraction-free environment if that is what you are looking for. Honest is, however, perfect for people watching or meeting a friend for a quick coffee date!

GoldSprint Coffee - Lowe Mill District

Location: 2515 9th Ave SW Huntsville, AL 35805

One of GoldSprint’s signature sayings is that they are “Huntsville AF” and we really can’t deny it! With eclectic decor, rugs, and plants in almost every spare nook, this cyclist inspired coffee shop is one of the gems of the city.

What We Love: While it may not look very big on the outside, GoldSprint has ample room; whether you are studying, catching up with friends, or wanting to read a good book. Also, GoldSprint loves to focus on the community by hosting many different events -- from yoga on Sunday mornings to concerts and community proms.

Our Order: You can’t miss the Iced Dirty Chai or Vanilla Latte and the Avocado Toast! Their pastries are also sourced from a local bakery so we suggest adding one to your order too.

Pro-Tip: In our opinion the best time to head to GoldSprint is on a Sunday morning! You will have the place practically to yourself so it is the best time to read or journal. We also love that the atmosphere is more relaxed on a Sunday so there is a better chance of having some fun interactions with the amazing baristas.

Offbeat Coffee Studio - Campus 805

Location: 2620 Clinton Ave W #1D Huntsville, AL 35805

Offbeat is a coffee shop and vinyl records retail store serving up unique craft coffee with nostalgic flavors. When you walk through the doors you are automatically drawn in by their bright mural wall and menu in neon lights.

What We Love: The atmosphere of Offbeat feels fun and light which is perfect if you are needing a mid-day mood lifter. We also love that Offbeat is located on Campus 805 so it is close to great restaurants, breweries, and even an axe-throwing spot.

Our Order: Their cereal milk lattes are constantly rotating but our favorite is the Lucky Charm Latte when available. No matter the cereal though, we’ve haven’t had one that we didn’t enjoy.

Pro-Tip: Unfortunately, there isn’t much seating at Offbeat however they do have some outdoor seating if the weather is nice.

Charlie Foster’s - Stovehouse

Locations: 3414 Governors Drive SW Suite 485 Huntsville, AL 35805

What We Love: Charlie Foster’s partners with Merrimack Hall, a local performing arts center that provides visual and performing arts education to children and adults with special needs. Through their partnership, Charlie Foster’s employ differently-abled people to promote inclusion and diversity in the community. We also love how open and fun their space is!

Our Order: They have many specialty drinks that feel fun and are delicious! They are also one of the only places in town that offer nitro cold brew and it is great.

Pro-Tip: Charlie Foster’s is located at Stovehouse so we recommend that you grab a latte and head over to enjoy the live music that is typically playing on a Friday night!

Take Heart. Take Flight.
