Behind The Seams: Throwback to Our Favorite Shoots

We’ve been in business for seven years at the time that this post is going up. In the last seven years we have organized and participated in many different creative photo shoots to showcase our products. Today, we are showing you some of our favorite images from our favorite shoots! We hope to inspire you to chase adventure, dare to dream bigger, and follow wherever your creativity may lead.

May 2015

Photographer: Lauren Tomasella

This styled shoot was in preparation of the our second Pop-Up Trunk Show that would take place at the end of the summer. Utilizing our Founder’s historic home, we capitalized on the lush greenery of her back yard and the rich colors of her living room.

Here in Alabama, where Travel Patterns is based, we don’t often get snow so we saw the forecast we planned a shoot within a matter of hours. Hiking to one of the small mountains that we have in Huntsville, we spent a few hours frolicking in a winter wonderland and highlighting many beautiful products from partners in India and Guatemala.

This shoot took place in an old abandoned greenhouse which fit with the eclectic boho vibe we wanted to show off. The purpose of this shoot was to show more of our products and to create content. These images were supposed to feel whimsical — almost a boho Alice in Wonderland.

This shoot was the second in our eclectic boho styled series. When we were planning for the shoot we were planning to release these images in the fall so we wanted to use warmer, richer tones. Our inspiration was a chic African safari and of course the beautiful textiles that we had to share.

With this shoot we wanted an urban vibe that started from the vision of rugs hanging from fire escapes. This shoot was one of the first that utilized models other than our Founder and we loved that it gave us that editorial feel.

March 2017

This shoot was our ode to the Indian Saree. One of our favorite textiles is a flowy, draping saree so we decided to make them the main feature. We loved the rich colors paired with the barren woods of early spring. It was the perfect backdrop to show off some of our handcrafted products.

In 2017 we completely rebranded and in the Fall of 2017 we launched Travel Patterns along with our first product collections. This shoot was to feature some of the amazing new products we had designed. While we didn’t have a specific theme, we still felt as though these images showed off how perfect the products were for travel!

This shoot is probably our most favorite one to date. The biggest inspiration for us were the intricate designs and colors of our Travel Patterns collection as well as the intricate threads of our stories and lives.
