The saying about April showers has certainly been true here in our part of the US and we are dreaming of sunny days -- more specifically days lounging on a beach. Whether you pick your beach based upon the amenities around it or for the scenic view, we have five great beaches that can fit your tropical daydreams!

Maya Bay, Thailand

Located on the island of Phi Phi Ley, the beach is surrounded by gigantic limestone cliffs, coral reefs, and crystal clear blue water. The only way to get to the island is by ruea hang yao (longtail boat) which is fine by us because we love getting a taste of authentic Thai culture! There isn’t anything to do on the island but it is the perfect spot if you are looking for a secluded beach with an unhindered view.

Siargao, Philippines

This up-and-coming island is perfect for the traveler who loves trying new things. From new restaurants and boutique resorts to island hopping boat tours, there is surely something for everyone. One of our favorite features of the island is the ease of getting fresh coconuts! It’s not hard to find a stand that is plucking coconuts straight from the trees and into your hands within a matter of minutes.

Tulum, Mexico

Nestled on the Caribbean coast of Mexico, Tulum used to be a sleepy, hidden beach town that is quickly becoming a hotspot! Hosting beautiful beaches and archaeological ruins, Tulum is great for adventures big and small. We spend our vacation days napping in a hammock on the beach, exploring the water-front ruins, or riding bikes on Beach Road to find the best tacos. Thatch Caye, Belize

Thatch Caye may be best known for its location along the Belize Barrier Reef and thatch roof overwater bungalows. This private resort island is the perfect spot if you are wanting an all-inclusive trip! Isle of Palms, South Carolina

The Isle of Palms is just 12 miles east of Historic Charleston and sometimes it's a wonder that a slow lifestyle is easily accessible in this laid-back beach town. If you want to experience more than just a beachy view, consider the Isle of Palms since there is a wide variety of landscapes on the South Carolina coastline.
